Overview
The PR & Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying FifthColor’s public presence. This position is responsible for crafting compelling narratives that elevate our brand through media outreach, award recognition, and community engagement. Reporting directly to the VP of Integrated Marketing and collaborating closely with the Marketing & Brand Strategist, you’ll be instrumental in promoting FifthColor’s work, culture, and impact.
By capturing and sharing our biggest wins, this role strengthens brand credibility, supports sales and marketing initiatives, and ensures our voice is heard across the right channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and distribute press releases, award submissions, and media kits that reflect FifthColor’s brand excellence
- Write engaging content including blogs, newsletters, and case studies to support marketing and sales efforts
- Cultivate relationships with regional and industry media outlets to secure coverage and build long-term visibility
- Support internal communications and culture storytelling to foster team engagement and alignment
- Assist with event promotion, sponsorship visibility, and community outreach initiatives
- Monitor media mentions, track PR performance, and stay ahead of industry trends to inform strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align messaging across platforms and campaigns
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or related fields
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Eagerness to grow into a long-term career in PR and communications
- Preferred experience with the following tools and platforms:
- HubSpot
- PR Newswire or Cision
- Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- LinkedIn & Meta Business Suite
- Basecamp
