Consumer Package Design
Originating in Spring Valley, Minnesota, Driftless Fish was looking to increase their sales and trusted our team at FifthColor to execute the perfect package design. Their high-end salmon jerky product required specific packaging specs, so they came to our team of creative experts for a solution.
This farm-to-table aquaculture trout farm ethically raises fish using natural springs, mimicking the growth of wild-caught fish. By tending to each fish by hand, Driftless is able to control every aspect of the growth process, ensuring a quality product for its consumers. The company needed packaging to match its rich and robust tasting fish.
Being from the land of 10,000 lakes, we recognized the brand’s accessibility and agility to be distributed efficiently across the United States. Our packaging solution needed to be lightweight while showcasing the brand’s core values - transparency, visibility, and well-being.
Our creative team knew that Driftless needed packaging that mirrored its elevated growing tactics. The team used stark slate-based background coloring to allow the driftless name to stand out. The packaging allows for transparency and visibility of the product by using negative space for the fish. The 360-degree design features the fish and mountains, every branded color, and nutritional facts.
Following the rollout of the new package design, Driftless is finding that large grocery stores and retailers from across the U.S. are excited to begin offering their products. Look for their products at your favorite grocery store!
